Because they want to survive and because they have people in their life that they really care about and dont want to lose.
maybe because they don't want to die, so obsiously they want to survive and live happily.Also there are many people who they care about/care about them, who they don't want to loose
Maybe family, friends and having hope and faith to achiving something that we always wanted to achieve in life but hadn't had the cance to yet.
The feeling that everything would get better and also the people around them
